Basal Wood Bridge

In GE 311 we had to make bridges out of basal wood. The final score was the max load the bridge could withstand divided by the weight of the bridge (so having a light bridge helps). My design was awesome (duh) but I ended up getting one of the worst scores in the class because of the way the bridges were loaded (a press with a tip that could pivot - it pivoted and put a horizontal force on my bridge). Oh well. This arch could hold even more textbooks than pictured and it weighed almost nothing. I will probably get a good grade anyway because Reis likes me. Posted by Picasa
