The next morning we picked up this budget truck and hired some "starving artists" to move all of our stuff into it. That is the name of the moving company! The guys were really nice and they worked really fast. They took a few chunks out of our walls but we were just grateful that we didn't have to move the 2,000 lbs of stuff ourselves. If you know me and Kyle you know that a job like that would have taken us 3 days instead of 3 hours.
We had a nice dinner in Chicago and spent some time with friends until we decided to get home and get some sleep in preparation for the *big trip*. Of course we still left tons of last minute stuff to do the next morning. And then Kyle's car wouldn't start. And then we decided to take a 2 hour detour to see his parents in Champaign. And they we left the keys to his car in Champaign and his Dad had to drive them to us.
But EVENTUALLY we mbarked on hour 30 hours road trip West. At 9pm on Friday. 12 hours after I'd planned :-p
We listened to some music and some audio books (Barack Obama's Dreams of My Father, The God Delusion, and I like you) and of course took crappy pictures from inside the van!
I was nervous about driving at first... but it wasn't much different than driving a car when we were on the interstate.
